Script: edit the video through its text
In the Script step, the speech in your video is written down word by word. You edit the video by editing this text: the words you strike out are cut from the video.
If the script is not ready yet, it appears by itself as soon as it is done. You can also Skip this step.
Select words
- Click a word to select it.
- Drag across words, or hold Shift and click, to select several.
Cut words
With words selected, click Cut (or press Delete). The words turn pink and struck through, and that part is removed from the video. The player skips it right away.
To bring cut words back, select them and click Cut again, or use Restore all.
Fix the text
Sometimes a word is written down wrong. Double-click it (or select it and press Enter) and use Fix text to type the right word.
Fix text only changes the words shown in the subtitles. It does not cut anything from the video. Leave the field empty if the words were never said.
Words the AI marks for checking
While you work, our AI reads the script and marks words that might be transcription mistakes. Check each one and fix it, or click All good if it is correct.
Remove pauses
Tick Remove pauses to cut long silences automatically. The new length of the video is shown next to it. The silence cutter is part of the Standard plan and higher.
Why this step matters
The subtitles are made from this text. Fixing it here gives you correct subtitles in the next step.
